Now by going to repeater.asus.com it was on 192.168.1.224 and I could login to the console and off I went, set-up exact same SSIDs as the router for both 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz and the system is working perfectly since. The UI is clean and very similar to the one I am used to from the ASUS router.
On the AC68U, there is no option to choose "bridge" anywhere. The only options for WAN Connection type are PPPOE, PPPOA, IPOA or MER. There is no such thing as 'bridge' as an option anywhere. I can't believe ASUS have made this modem so hard to bridge, when it is a very simple process for the cheapest of modems. 1.) I set it up as a bridge to take a wifi signal from a Wireless hotspot and convert it to ethernet to hand off to the WAN2 port for failover on a multi-wan router.
