The mfgrs model name is not a reliable way of identifying a modem, the same model name is often used on different markets but with a different modem internal firmware version. The USB vendor and product id (vid:pid) are the main parameters to use when checking if a modem is supported or not supported. Connect the smartphone to the USB port of the router with the USB cable, and then enable USB Tethering from the Android settings. You can, additionally, turn on the phone's Developer Options. There is a Default USB Configuration: USB Tethering option. The phone will immediately to USB Tethering mode when plugged into the router.
